Jessica Troske

Jessica Troske is the Budget and Administrative Coordinator for the Newcomb College Institute. Jessica is a Louisiana native. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in English Literature from Northwestern State University. Her scholarly interests include southern writer William Faulkner and the social construction of gender and race relations found in his novels and short stories. Jessica has a strong background working within the non-profit and educational sectors.

Aidan Smith, Ph.D.

Aidan Smith is the Director of the Newcomb Scholars Program and teaches its first year seminar, The History and Philosophy of Higher Education: The Role of College Women. She earned her bachelor's degree at Barnard College and holds a master's degree in mass communication from the University of Florida. She completed her doctorate in American Studies at the University of Hawaii in 2013. She also coordinates Newcomb’s feminist film initiatives. Her first book, Gender, Heteronormativity, and the American Presidency, was published by Routledge in October 2017. 

Anna Mitchell Mahoney, Ph.D.

Anna Mitchell Mahoney earned a B.A. from Loyola University in Mass Communications, a M.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Alabama, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Rutgers University. She joined Newcomb Institute as an Administrative Assistant Professor of Women’s Political Leadership in August 2014. In 2016, she became Director of Research for the Institute.  

She has taught a range of courses at the university level including Introduction to Women’s Studies, American Government, Congressional Politics, American Race Relations, and Women and American Politics.  

Geneva Longlois-Marney

Geneva Longlois-Marney has over a decade of experience in donor development and volunteer management gained at non-profit organizations throughout New Orleans. Most recently, she was with New Orleans City Park as their major gifts and planned giving officer, where she created their major gifts program and secured $500,000+ gifts from individuals and foundations and managed multiple volunteer boards. Previously, she coordinated the capital campaign for Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans and Acadiana.

Jacquelyne Thoni Howard, Ph.D.

Jacquelyne Thoni Howard is an Administrative Assistant Professor of Technology and Women's History. She earned a Ph.D. in U.S. History from Fordham University, an M.A. in History from the University of San Diego, and a B.A. in History with a minor in secondary education from Loyola University New Orleans. Jacquelyne leveraged her liberal arts degrees to gain extensive experience in digital scholarship and instructional technology.
