The Impact of Your Gift
Monetary gifts to the Newcomb Archives and Vorhoff Collection sustain our mission to care for collections and make them widely available to researchers. This includes exhibitions, travel-to-collection grants, research fellowships, paid internships and jobs for our undergraduate and graduate student staff, and, most significantly, the purchase of preservation supplies, digitization equipment, digital storage, and continuous upgrades to our reading room and storage facility.
Gifts and donations also fund the acquisition of new print materials, which range widely in cost, from zines to unique works such as artists’ books. While most manuscript collections are received by donation, gifts to the archives may also be used to fund the acquisition of for-sale manuscript collections to complement and elevate our reputation as an invaluable repository of women’s and gender history.
