Students at Newcomb Institute receive co-curricular training through our campus events and our three flagship training programs: Internships for professional training, Leaders for leadership training, Scholars for research training, able to be applied to any field or discipline and using a gender equity lens to consider fairness and inclusion.

Internship Program:
The Newcomb Internship Program provides paid internships for undergraduates to build professional skills through experiential learning with Tulane faculty, local, national and global organizations focused on gender equity and women’s empowerment. Participants in this program will also learn from new and continuing interns as well as from leaders in the field through monthly meetings. Students are paid $15 per hour for up to 15 hours per week.
Who Can Apply: All full-time students at Tulane University are eligible to apply to the Newcomb Internship program.
Leadership Programs:
Newcomb Leadership Programs offer co-curricular opportunities for students to become socially responsible, equity-driven, and career-ready undergraduate leaders. Students will cultivate the skills, values, and knowledge necessary to lead with integrity and drive meaningful change in their communities and professional fields. From cohort and mentoring programs to student organization leadership, our programs provide opportunities for students to engage with Newcomb Institute at any point during their time at Tulane.
Who Can Apply: All full-time students at Tulane University are eligible to participate in the Newcomb Leadership programs.
Leadership Cohort Program Peer Mentor Program Student Organizations
Newcomb Scholars Program:
The Newcomb Scholars Program is a four-year cohort-based program designed to support students’ academic growth toward development of independent scholarship in their discipline or field. With our support, students can present research at national conferences funded by the Institute and at the Scholars Symposium during their senior year.
Who Can Apply: All first-year, full-time students at Tulane University are eligible to apply to the Newcomb Scholars program during their first fall semester.
