Jay Silverman, PhD, is an Usdin Family Professor of Community Health at the Tulane University School ofPublic Health and Tropical Medicine. He is a leading global health researcher on understanding andpreventing gender-based violence again adolescent and adult women (e.g., intimate partner violence,reproductive coercion, sexual violence and sex trafficking), including development and testing ofcommunity and health service-based interventions to reduce gender-based violence and improvesexual, reproductive, and maternal and child health. He has led multiple major federally, foundation andUN-funded studies and published over 240 peer-reviewed papers on these topics.
