Welcome to the Newcomb Institute. In fulfilling our vision to shape the future by educating students to achieve gender equity, we aim to connect the research, teaching, and community service missions of Tulane University.
As Newcomb College has always done, we promote the development of students’ leadership skills, preparing them to advocate for gender equity and lead in a gendered world. Whether you are a current student at Tulane University, an alumna, or a member of our New Orleans community, we strive to be a center for mentoring the next generation of feminist leaders through innovative teaching on gender issues, service-learning courses, and engaging public programs. Our research center, archives, and library are resources for all. Located in the center of Tulane's campus in The Commons at 43 Newcomb Place, the Newcomb Institute is a pivotal link between students, faculty members, and community activists.
