Newcomb Senate
Department: Senate
Posted May 26, 2009

Newcomb Senate is the governing council of the Newcomb College Institute. Comprised of an executive board, school representatives, committees, and freshmen representatives, the Senate acts as a liaison between the Newcomb College Institute and undergraduate women, continues important Newcomb traditions, and coordinates events, such as Celebrate Newcomb Week and Spring Arts Festival, for the whole student body. All undergraduate women are encouraged to participate in Newcomb Senate by attending Town Hall Meetings and joining committees.

Elections for upperclassmen positions are held in the spring semester, and two freshmen representatives are elected at the beginning of the fall semester.

Senate meetings for the Fall 2009 semester will be held on Wednesdays at 7 PM. Town Hall meetings are open to all students and are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7 PM.
