The Nadine Vorhoff Library is in the process of setting up a zine collection. The collection will include many local zines and the zines will actually circulate (that means you can check them out).
Here's a preview of some of the zines:
"I Hate This Part of Texas" by John Gerken
This NOLA-based Zine focuses on queer and feminist issues as well as Hurricane Katrina.
"Crescent City Stories" by Nicki Sabalu
This is an autobiographical zine about the author's experiences cleaning up after Katrina.
"Sob Story?" by Andrew Scott
Another autobiographical zine, "Sob Story?" discusses traveling and aging in the punk subculture.
"New Orleans... my love" by Shelley Jackson
Shelley Jackson tells her Katrina story.
