History of the Alumnae Association Finances
The Newcomb Alumnae Association always has been supported by donations from her alumnae.
Through the skillful negotiations of alumnae board members years ago, monies donated to the association were deposited into two interest-bearing accounts at Tulane.
After Newcomb College was closed, those accounts were consolidated into one account at the request of the alumnae board in fall, 2007. T he alumnae board voted to only spend the interest monies accruing to its account during FY 2007-08. The board further endorsed this practice for FY 2008-09.
The association continues to receive the same interest-bearing benefits for its account now as it did when the college was in operation. Interest is credited quarterly to the account. The Newcomb Alumnae Director is provided with the financial statements, which are in turn reviewed by the alumnae association treasurer and the members of the alumnae board.
The monies of the Newcomb Alumnae Association are dedicated solely to the activities of the association at the discretion of the Newcomb Alumnae Board of Directors.
Why Should I Consider Donating Today to the NAA?
The cost for our alumnae association programming, separate from programming handled through the alumnae office, continues to rise.
Each year, we welcome nearly 1000 women to the ranks of our alumnae group. Thus, our association is in need of your financial support to keep its programs operating and running successfully.
Currently, interest monies from our account support activities such as the Town Moms program, Newcomb Networking Nights, the Newcomb Alumnae reception during Reunion Homecoming weekend, and the Newcomb Alumnae Student Mentoring Initiative (being developed this year).
All donations to the Newcomb Alumnae Association are considered charitable and tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

I would rather donate online. How can I do that?
Please note that all online donations to any part of Tulane University are handled through one secure site. Thus, when you opt to donate online, you will be redirected to the Tulane Giving page.
When you are asked to specify where you would like to give, you have a menu of options to consider.
Among those options is one called "Other" and the box next to that option is blank.
It is there that you can specifically designate your gift for the Newcomb Alumnae Association, the Newcomb Endowment Fund, the Newcomb College Center for Research on Women, or any other Newcomb fund of your choice.
If it is your desire to donate to the Newcomb College Institute, you will see that there is an option listed for that donation.
Remember: it is up to you to be explicit and specific about your gift designation.
I still have a few questions about my donation.
Allison Raynor, Newcomb alumnae director, would be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have. Contact her via e-mail
